The June 16, 2012 Sockers FC Chicago 25th Anniversary Gala/Auction/Hall of Fame Induction ended successfully as a record-breaking fundraiser and very enjoyable evening for all who attended.
Over 250 attendees enjoyed the evening’s celebration which included a Hall of Fame Induction and Scholarship Awards, dinner and drinks, silent and live auctions, dancing and some very enjoyable opportunities to take green screen photos with friends.
Both Michael Bradley and Jonathan Spector attended the event and represented the inaugural Hall of Fame inductees.
Four scholarships were awarded as follows:
1) Coaching Staff Scholarship awarded to Ismael Albarran
2) Jonathan Spector Scholarship awarded to Kevin Sieb
3) Sockers Youth Foundation Scholarship awarded to Alonzo Carrillo
4) Alumni Scholarship awarded to Jake Fuderer
An additional partial scholarship was collected from donations made by gala guests and will be awarded in the future.
Over 200 items were auctioned-off during the Silent and Live Auction event, most donated by membership families. SmartPhone technology was used for the auction and allowed members to participate in bidding, regardless of their attendance.
Sockers FC Chicago and Sockers Youth Foundation hope to make this dinner dance an annual event.
Huge thanks go out to all those who participated in the planning of this event, attended the event or participated in the auction bidding.
A very special thanks to all those members who generously donated items for the auction. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Thanks also to our Platinum Sponsor, Northern Illinois Soccer League and Gold Sponsors, MetalMaster & SnoGem (Smeja Family), NIKE and Chicago Soccer. We appreciate your support.
